Tswalu Tarkuni Lodge : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information

Unmatched, bespoke ecstasy in the Kalahari

Tarkuni Lodge, exclusively utilized, is situated in the semi-arid Kalahari Desert, positioned between two mountain ranges within Tswalu Reserve.  The Oppenheimer residence, a retreat featuring Tarkuni, guarantees an exceptional safari experience with a limit of 10 cars allowed to traverse the adjacent 110,000 hectares, and includes a personal cook, host, game ranger, tracker, and private safari vehicle.

The purported “green” region of the Kalahari consists of semi-arid grasslands and expansive savannahs.  Approximately 80 mammalian species, 240 avian species, and an indeterminate number of intriguing insects inhabit this desert.  Notably, a greater number of butterfly species exist here than throughout the entire British Isles.  In the absence of light pollution, visitors will have the chance to witness the exquisite night skies of the Kalahari.

Tarkuni’s luxurious design integrates harmoniously with the understated color palette of its environment.  Chandeliers are hanging from tree branches above open areas, lighted by crackling fireplaces.  All activities, including game drives, bush walks, and horseback safaris, are specifically customized to the preferences of Tarkuni’s visitors.
