 Tarangire National Park encompasses 280,000 hectares of grassland interspersed with substantial baobab clusters and occasionally interrupted by marshes and acacia woodlands.  In addition to its remarkable populations of elephants and avian species, this wildlife sanctuary features intriguing tree-climbing lions, frequently observed herds of Oryx, and exceptionally huge pythons.  Night drives and nature hikes are allowed in the park, unlike many other locations in the region, and visitors can ascend to remarkable altitudes in a hot-air balloon.
