Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge

Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information

A beautiful cottage in gorilla habitat

The verdant forests and misty volcanoes of Rwanda possess a magical allure, where the majestic gorilla continues to walk freely.  Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge comprises individual cottages situated in the foothills of the majestic 15,000-foot volcanoes that form the Virunga range, near the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park.

From this starting point, it is only 3 kilometers until adventurous explorers get in the park where Diane Fossey conducted her groundbreaking research—her scientific base is accessible via one of the hikes.  Additional treks encompass visits to one of the eight gorilla groups within the park, encounters with the endemic golden monkeys, or exploration of the picturesque twin lakes, among others.  Supplementary activities in the vicinity encompass mountain biking routes, lake cruises, and excursions to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village.

Upon your return, fatigued from your journey, you will undoubtedly value the butler prepared to tend to your equipment and the fireplace in your sitting area.  Six cottages, one family suite, and two suite cottages are strategically positioned and include private verandas, while the main lodge comprises a cozy bar, dining area, and outdoor decks.
