Pumba Water Lodge : Rates, Reviews, Booking Information
Pumba Water Lodge is a five-star sanctuary situated above Lake Kariega, a renowned watering hole, within the Pumba Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape, featuring the Big Five and white lions. The reserve encompasses 6,000 hectares and hosts a diverse array of animals, including the Big Five large game species.
Lake Kariega draws a multitude of fauna and avifauna observable from the lodge’s wooden deck. The reserve’s relatively modest size leads to a high density of species, enabling frequent sightings and the possibility of encountering the elusive white lion that resides here. Guided by seasoned rangers, open 4×4 vehicles transport visitors on safaris, while additional recreational activities encompass tracking, bush walks, birdwatching, bass fishing, stargazing, and archery.
The thatched, stonewalled chalets each include an own deck with views of Lake Kariega, are air-conditioned, and provide separate baths and indoor showers, as well as hot towel rails. Outdoor showers, a cozy fireplace, binoculars, novels, and a private plunge pool significantly enhance the luxury experience. Absorb sunlight on the sun deck, swim in the pool, or have a cocktail at the beachfront bar.
