Shamwari’s five-star Big Five experience

Numerous lodges and camps provide opportunities to encounter Africa’s magnificent Big 5; but none match the exclusivity, luxury, comfort, and convenience found at Shamwari Eagles Crag.  This five-star lodge is situated in the malaria-free Eastern Cape and is renowned as one of South Africa’s premier destinations for game viewing and conservation initiatives.

The Shamwari Private Game Reserve has approximately 25,000 hectares of malaria-free bushveld and hosts Africa’s Big Five.  Due to Shamwari’s proficiently trained rangers, you get a significant opportunity to observe several gorgeous wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, during the reserve’s informative game drives and walks.  Visitors may explore Shamwari’s two large feline sanctuaries and wildlife rehabilitation centers to gain insight into the reserve’s conservation initiatives.

The accommodation has nine suites, accommodating a maximum of 18 guests overall.  Each suite is equipped with air conditioning, a mini-bar, a private deck, a heated plunge pool, and both indoor and outdoor showers.  Eagles Crag’s Relaxation Retreat enhances luxury and comfort with two therapy rooms, a hydrobath, and a sauna.
