Honoring the traditional safari heritage

Somalisa Camp, steeped in the history of classic safaris, is located in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest reserve.  Travelers may effortlessly combine an African wildlife-viewing experience with a visit to the renowned Victoria Falls, as the camp is situated on the primary route between the falls and Bulawayo.

This section of the park, situated along the Kennedy Vlei, draws substantial herds of elephants, kudu, sable, and giraffes, among others.  Buffalo and rhinoceros are also known to inhabit the area, while the indigenous predators comprise lion, leopard, and hyena.  Following the initial deluge of the annual rains, the vlei flourishes, exhibiting a multitude of wildflowers derived from Nature’s remarkable palette.

 Somalisa Camp is situated on an acacia island that overlooks a seasonal floodplain.  The six elegantly appointed canvas tents feature en-suite toilets, outdoor showers, and solar lighting.  Visitors can partake in guided bush walks, wildlife drives, birdwatching, and nightly spotlighting from the camp’s spacious deck, where elephants frequently approach within close proximity.
